Your system is alive (or should be) and antibacterial soap will affect the good bacteria needed to make your system work. Septic systems of all types depend on bacteria to break down solids. A system with slowed or dead population of bacteria will cause premature failure. Along the same lines if you have a serious illness and have to take strong antibiotics, we recommend that the tanks are pumped after you stop taking the drugs, to allow the system to re-colonize.
